Artist Statement

My work in acrylic and collage on canvas focuses on the transformative aspect of creativity. I attempt to present something meaningful amidst the over-accumulation of matter and information that surrounds us. My reworking of the discarded and forgotten visual imagery of our everyday lives mimics the transformation I believe we must make to give things personal significance. I express this transformative intention through the organization of many levels, both painted and placed, that act in my effort to understand the ambiguity of all meaning.
